rafts and shredders on the Stony
There is a local company that does raft trips down the Stony http://www.coaltubin.com/rafting.html I highly recommend them, they are great people. Lots of private boaters raft and shred the canyon, but most of the local people I know who shred it are in the Airtight Inflatable Shredders, and I don't...

Great Weekend
Wayne and I had a wonderful time and want to thank those that showed us down the river, shared their food, entertained us with sparkling conversation and made us feel welcome.

Ft. Hill Access
I have been told that we are allowed to park on the side of the road in front of the barriers at the Ft. Hill Access. It adds about 100 yards or so to the carry out, but is not too bad. We were able to get 4 cars/trucks parked roadside easily the other day, and although it's not ideal, but stil doab...

2012 summary
In 2012 I continued my very, very slow progression paddling whitewater. I spent 96 days on the river with 2 PFD's, the Pigeon Gorge and the Oconlufte. I did however have many first alternative lines and an increase in comfort level with slightly higher water on both the Stony and Lower Yough. I padd...

Stonycreek PA release this weekend Sept. 22 and 23rd
Yes folks, it appears that we will actually have a release this weekend on the Stonycreek. I just received an email promising that a release will occur both Saturday and Sunday 10-2 because the CSA is lowering the Que pool.

OCT- Stonycreek Canyon 7/14
It is highly doubtful that a release will occur this weekend on the Stony due to the ongoing drought in PA, and the natural flow is too low to paddle... even for me. An official announcement will be made by the water authority on Wednesday and I will update this message as soon as I hear anything.
