South Anna Saturday 5/9

Paddle Daddy wrote:Looks like the Ashland gauge is leveling off. This is gauge is downstream of the run from Rt 33 to Rt 54.
Thank you, Patrick.

We had a lovely run with the level remaining at 7.4" on the USGS and 5' on the Randy Carter gauge at the put-in.

Matt: Here's the report by Charlie Walbridge in the Sept/Oct 2001 AWA Journal Safety Report. (Page 93) I hope it helps. I will always remember paddling with your dad and what a kind person he was.

New Year's on the Rappahannock 2009

I'm in the movies :!: The local "river rats" met for an "unofficial" New Year's Day gathering to paddle downstream from the I-95 bridge to the Falmouth Bridge. Despite outdoor temps at freezing, seven boaters dressed in dry suits and had "fun" taking their time manuever...

As long as we're confessing  I got stuck on the same rock Saturday morning just before Slo2rol had his unfortunate encounter of the worst kind. Since I had not called out YOAD though, I did not swim  I pushed off the rock into the hole bow first and stayed upright :)
