Heads up to those of you planning to paddle the Upper Yough on Saturday that “Friendsville Days” is also that day.

Below is all I know:
Wilderness Voyagers wrote: Race Day Parking & Town Parade: The Town of Friendsville is having it's "Friendsville Day's" festivities on the same day as the Upper Yough Race. In fact a parade float line up is taking the whole North side of the road where Boaters Park, parade set to run at Noon. The Town is going to have an early one day only opening of the new parking area, on the grassy field to the South side of the normal boater parking area. Please enter Town on the West side since down town will be closed to traffic around 11:45pm, you will be directed to enter the new parking area right next to the Liquor store. Please DO NOT drive down Water street to access the parking. We even want you to Take Out under the Big Rout 68 Bridge and walk over to the parking area behind the Methodist Church. This is a one time use only to solve the problem of two big activities going on at the same time. The Town is working diligently to get the new parking area open permanently, please be patient. Also, the Friendsville Days festivities at the Town Park includes FOOD and entertainment. There is a great little Thai food vendor who comes here every year along with the wholesome local offerings. Thank you and please have a great race day!

I'm probably probably only going to muddy the water and not really accomplish anything with this but I'm a little confused on what to bring to eat for the pot-luck. Obviously it doesn't matter as long as everyone doesn't brig the same thing, but post above has me down for a main dish or desert. I remembered bringing a pie to the last meeting so I checked HERE and it says for me to bring a salad. Maybe I'll just bring an entree and not worry about it.

Actually, you're right to use the link in your post Jon. It seems that the original post in this thread contains the list of sides, etc for a spring meeting rather than the SUMMER MEETING

Additionally, everyone is encouraged to bring a main dish for sharing as well as the side from the list. (You can read this in the link header you posted as well.)
Generally, I think that if I have the opportunity to paddle, and I've got something else to do or I feel like I shouldn't go for some reason, then I force myself to go and I always have a great time. So, I guess when in doubt -- Go, Paddle. -- Tommy Hilleke

Made mention in main post of this non-OCT option for both Saturday and Sunday if the Lower Yough isn’t quite for you yet.

Thanks for posting this information.

Not te'llin - just sayin' but it looks like the Cheat Canyon might run this weekend as well. Although less likely, the Top Yough is showing signs of being an option, too.

I'm all covered up but if you plan to go over there, it would awful sweet of you to post your intentions under it's own thread.
