Statons Creek
Ran it today with about 300 on the Pedlar guage; it was a good medium level.
There is definitely some wood but nothing you can't see that will catch you by suprise, just make sure to scout any horizon lines. There wasn't any wood in any of the big drops.

Re: Statons Creek
Sam.....just curious.....where exactly is Staton's Creek? I live on the Lower Pedlar. Is it pretty accessible? GWNF or private property? While I have no delusions of paddling it.....would like to check it out some time since I live so close. Thanks.Sam P wrote:Ran it today with about 300 on the Pedlar guage; it was a good medium level.

Yeah it's really easy to get to. It's only a few miles of off Rt. 60. After you cross the Pedlar on Rt. 60 heading east you turn left onto Rt. 634 (Coleytown rd.) and go a few miles. Then take a left onto rt. 633 (Fiddler's Green Way). Go along this road for half a mile and you'll see the creek drop off the face of the earth on your right. The steep section runs right along the road and is on public land. I'm not sure if it runs the entire length of the run, but there is a trail on river left that takes you down to the put-in and it appears to continue. Even if you can't hike down the entire run, Staton's falls is right at the put-in and it's pretty impressive.
