A lower Yough paddle sacrifice to Mr. Snaggle Tooth rock!

Let us know how it went! Swim confessions and carnage reports are welcome, but it's not fair to tell on your buddies!

A lower Yough paddle sacrifice to Mr. Snaggle Tooth rock!

Post by gromit »

Here ya go Wallace......

It was Saturday and I was paddling the lower Yough with Wallace, Holly, JR, Wade and Matt. All was fine and dandy till JR suggests making the ferry from behind the huge rock at rivers end to the rock on river left. OK, I'm game! Off I go, things are going well till, flip, no biggie, set up to roll, and then I thought I'd shove my paddle (on purpose) under Mr. S. Tooth rock, just so I could have an excuse to go for a swim!
This is my version....
Making, or not making the ferry, flip, set up, foob over snaggle rock where he decides he wants my paddle and I surrendered it! No hand roll in sight, so time for a swim!! Paddle never to be seen again.....?
Hey, it has been over a year so I was due! Thanks to a good rescue crew and mystery boat emptier! :D Good thing we had a break down paddle - which Wallace very nicely used and I used his paddle (break down was a bit crappy!!).
JR did suggest a brace would have been less costly!!
Thanks to Wade for taking us shopping and I have a nice new paddle with non worn down blades!
On Sunday we paddled the Savage which was great fun. Kudos to Karl, JoAnn and JR for getting us down that in one piece :D ! Just bummed we are so geographically displaced and had to come home after only one run!

Another huge thanks to Kessman for the use of the KKK! It looking better and better each time! Rufus and Jack also send a big wag and paws up for using the back yard and porch!

Yeah! Wallace will have to start wearing his superman shorts again!! :D

You know, I know he was glad I was OK, but he could barely keep the grin off his face as I swam into the eddy and he was sitting there in his boat and said, well, I guess the trip report is all yours!! He did let me have a new paddle though!!! :D

I dumped your boat and pulled it up on the bank before I walked up to look for you paddle. You hung in a long time before coming out, sorry about your paddle. Don't forget Wallace made the Hairy Ferry.

i was going to try & blackmail a good story to get your paddle back but you already gave it

on sunday on our trip we were getting megan back in her boat i turned around and their was a bent shaft paddle sitting up on a rock, dan went and got and i noticed a "757" area code on it, a little while later someone saw the name bradford on it and we started laughing and planning what we could get for it

beth used the paddle the rest of the way down and i didn't think we would get it from her hands

hopefully mother duck and jer are happy

Thanks for rescuing it! :D And for not blackmailing me! :D
So who actually has it? And when and how can we be reunited? Please??
I was pretty sure it was gone to the river gods forever, the force that it got shoved and pulled from me was a bit of a shock!
Really glad you found it! Thanks!

Snaggle Tooth SUCKS.

Post by EHJ22 »

I also lost my paddle, a chunk of my chin, thumb and arm to Snaggle Tooth Rock. That thing SUCKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. I flipped at the top, was way too far right and to make things worst got on left edge as I was heading for he drop and that rock at the top knocked me over and immediately I was greeted by Snaggle Tooth. I feel your pain!
