New to the area, seeking class IV/IV+ boating buddies

Post by outdoorsoul »

Hey

I recently moved to the DC area and am searching for regular kayaking buddies, specifically boaters who boat class IV/IV+

I would love to get out on the Upper Yough.

I am from California and have boated all class IV runs in California and Colorado. Haven't pushed into class V, mainly because I just don't want to push it. I have heard that some runs out here are a bit inflated, so I would be down for some easy V. I love technical boating, so runs like the Upper Yough sound great to me.

Please email me if you would be up for showing me lines down the Upper Yough or paddling anything local.

peace...matt

Hello Matt.

Please feel welcomed.

Many here do Upper Yough type stuff. As you are doing the DC thing, guessing you've already looked here but just in case:

Matt,

I’m taking down two UY first timers this weekend so my dance card is full but look for posts like this:

and get in touch with me (I own a home in Friendsville, MD at the UY takeout).

If you come up for the Falls Race, I can take you down the UY then:

Full dance cards =

Hey Matt,

New to the area as well with the same deal. Give me a call if you want to meet up to paddle. 570-881-3289. I was thinking of hitting up the James tomorrow evening or this weekend if you are interested. I dont think much else is running right now.

Matt,

I live in DC, and may be heading up to the UY for the release this Saturday. If I go I would be happy to show you the lines, although if you get a chance to go with Dave he would be the best guide.

The potomac is a bit low now but when the level comes up I will be out at the chutes.

Aww shucks  ... Juggy loves me :D
Envelope – Free stationary taken from the Marriott while on a business trip.
Snowflake address label – sent to me free and had to be used up.
Stained glass stamp – It was more then three feet away from me when I decided to get them so you know I didn’t see them clearly
Butterfly and Sunflower stickers on the back – Also free and required because the glue on the envelope was so old it no longer stuck.
