Yough weekend - Aug 21/22 (Replacement OCT)

Post by Barb »

Lee & I are going to be up at the Yough on the weekend of Aug 21/22. I'm leading a trip on the Middle on Saturday (unless we get gobs of water and the Casselman comes up), Lee's taking a group on the Lower on Saturday, then we're both paddling the Lower on Sunday. It also looks like it's the Falls Race Weekend, so it might be a bit crazy there, but fun! Here's a link to the Falls Race stuff: http://www.fallsrace.com/

Sejal and I will we up there that weekend also. :D We'll be staying at the Triple K.

Saturday, she will be running the Falls and then going back and running the UY.
I plan on watching her run the Falls and then doing the LY, but don't have any plans set as to when.
Sunday we will both be running the LY, and again don't have any plans as to when.
Would like to join up with Lee (Sat) and you & Lee (Sun) if we can make it work.

What are the plans for the LY on Sat & Sun? Do you have launch times decided on?
Are you getting launch permits in advance for the group or is each person doing there own?

CCC has a Club Trip for the LY this weekend also.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming....WOW What a ride! . . . . . Trying to live up to this, Priceless. As long as you have good insurance!

Wade,
I've got 4 passes (all taken) for noon on Saturday, which won't work for you if you want to watch Sejal (don't they start at noon?). Maybe we can change things around - switch to a later time. email me with a suggested time and I'll see what we can do.
I have 8 passes for 10 am on Sunday - 5 are taken right now, so we'd love to have you and Sejal join in!
We're going to try out Scarlett Knob campground this time.

Checking with Giggles but the practice runs on the falls are from 9:00 to Noon (she isn't doing the race) and then she's heading back to run the UY.
So that may work out fine. Depending on her needs for the Mango van, I may want to poach a ride  back to town from the takeout with ya'll, then she could come get me after the UY. I'll see about getting a pass for noon on Saturday.

We'll join you for Sunday, Sejal could use one of the passes, but I will most likely Oar Rig on Sunday, so i'll see about a permit for than.

I'll be hanging around the Falls so I'll catch up with ya'll then.
See ya,
Wade

I love it when a plan comes together. Maybe someone else will join us who will also be going back down to the Triple K after the Saturday paddle so that Sejal won't have to come all the way back up (unless you'll both be participating in the Falls festival activities afterwards). We ought to be able to work something out to get you back from the takeout, either way.

Perfect :D

I have a hardboat pass for noon (got an extra one in case anyone needs it) on Saturday and a rubber pass for me on Sunday 10:15.
Please hold a Sunday pass for Giggles and we are set.

I love hanging around in Ohiopyle anyway and with the Festival going on it will just make it better.
Maybe even let the "Inner Mango" out. That will get Sejal there in a hurry!
Just got to remember a lock for my boat.

What is up with all of this camping stuff?:evil: You have GOT to come stay at the Triple K Ranch! I've made a couple of calls and a few emails and it is all cool. Just park in the dirveway (especially if you're sleeping in your car) or across the street in front of the house or down on Maple. If you want to set up a tent, just do it in the back yard behind the house and dont' walk down the street with a beer and / or your shirt off (this seems to be a particular complaint) and it will be all good. I'm telling you!

Hey, Dave - really appreciate the offer - the Triple K is GREAAT! but... (and please don't get ANGRY...!)... there are 8 to 10 of us in addition to the Mangles and Steph and whoever else will be at your place that weekend. We want to ck out this campground and also be near the festivities for the weekend in town. I promise we'll bunk at your place next time!

Too late
Envelope – Free stationary taken from the Marriott while on a business trip.
Snowflake address label – sent to me free and had to be used up.
Stained glass stamp – It was more then three feet away from me when I decided to get them so you know I didn’t see them clearly
Butterfly and Sunflower stickers on the back – Also free and required because the glue on the envelope was so old it no longer stuck.

Still hammering out the details, but it looks like I'll have my brother's dog in tow for the weekend. Dave - you mentioned something about the triple K having a fenced in yard...? Wade - if I end up staying at the triple K I should have a spare seat and rack space for you on Saturday for the LY group.

Affirmative. It is escapable for small dogs though.
