Time to mark your calendars for this annual fun & good-karma event!
We will meet @ the Rockbridge Baths P.O. on Rt. 39 on Sat, 3/29, @ 10am. Please do NOT park in front of or adjacent to the P.O. I'll have lovely orange vests & trash bags. Then we'll drive upstream, stagger our parking, & pick up all the trash we can alongside Rt. 39 & down towards the river where possible. Please bring gloves. I also recommend long pants & long sleeves due to pesky poison ivy. About noon, we'll head back to my house in RB for a cookout, courtesy of the Coastals' Recognition program & with donated beef from my farmer neighbor who appreciates what we do.
In past years, we've had enough water to then run 1 or 2 sections of the Maury - the Pass [Advanced], Indian Pools down [intermediate] &/or below the P.O. [low intermediate]. Hoping for water again this year. If not, Balcony Falls is always available as a back-up (35 minute drive from RB).
To help with my shopping list for the cookout, PLEASE LET ME KNOW BY THURSDAY, 3/27, IF YOU ARE COMING. However, if you decide to come @ the last minute, you'll still be quite welcome, but I won't be able to promise you a big lunch.
Thanks in advance for helping with this worthwhile event - last year we had 26 volunteers & collected 39 bags of trash. While I hope there's less trash this year, it'd be great to have even more volunteers.
Alicia

Please RSVP by Thurs nite
Many thanks to those who've already let me know they're coming. Please do RSVP by Thursday evening, so I can shop for the cookout after work on Friday. WE NEED MORE VOLUNTEERS!
I'm hopeful we'll have enough water to paddle some section of the Maury. Had some wet snow today & rain is forecast for Fri (& Sat, I'm afraid). But boaters don't mind getting a little wet, right? Plus it's supposed to near 60 degrees, so @ least it's not a cold rain.
Thanks in advance, & don't forget to RSVP by Thurs nite!

Thanx, Lee & Stephanie.
I only have about 1/3 of the volunteers that I had last year, so PLEASE sign up to come! This is a feel-good event & we always have fun. I know the water's low but we should @ least be able to run below the P.O. if not also a low water run in the Pass. Temps will be up even tho we might get rained on. We're still on, rain or shine, so just come prepared.
PLEASE RSVP BY THURSDAY NIGHT AS I WILL SHOP FOR THE COOKOUT AFTER WORK FRIDAY. But if you miss that deadline & still want to come, please do.
thanx - aj
