I am coming into to Richmond Wed-Friday this week for business and plan on bringing my boat. Is a the Pony pasture a park and play? Also is there a particular day when others go? I was a class III boater (2-3 years exp) with a pretty solid roll, but have not been in the water for about a year because of the birth of my daughter.

I would like to do the UJ Wed and if all goes well possibly the lower Thursday if there are any groups that wouldn't mind a tag along.

Please let me know. Thanks

Adam

PP is park and play, but level dependent. LJ at summertime flow is rocky, but we we still do it.

Others will post with more experience than me, but my advice is to bring your gear!

Definitely bring your gear. The predicted flow for when you're here is 4.2-4.4, a bit on the low side, but not yet to summer boney at below 4. I'd suggest you do a post for each of the trips you're looking at b/c most folks do either UJ or LJ but not both. Putting in after work is pretty common this time of year. I might be up for the UJ run.

If you go to PP you can walk up Riveside Drive a short disiance above the rapids and play on the way back to the PP parking lot. For lazy bums like me its easier than launching at PP and paddlimg up.

Sounds Great. I appreciate it. Where is the put in? Is at Pony Pasture Park? Tried finding Reedy on line was not able too.

I will be in in a black Taurus with PA Plates. My boat will be inside car.

Looking forward to it.

Thanks
