in other words, i want to paddle!!!!!! after a season ending neck injury late last spring and a back injury in late january, i have an uphill climb but i'm determined to be in a boat, any boat that will handle whitewater. i haven't had the stomach to even follow the rest of you since the neck injury...

weather & water level's looking good at this point. we have a couple who haven't done the upper james before, so the pace should be steady. MarkT, Turbo D (keith), Spanky, jmdriscoll, BruceB, my coworker and I are on board, so let's figure out the shuttle situation at reedy. see you all tomorrow...

i usually get there at 6:30 so that i'm on the river at 7 at the latest. i'm flexible so would 7 work since it's a park and play deal. the level isn't that high, but it would be a great scouting trip. i'll try to track down landowner info since i know a few people in the area.

i think you'd expressed interest in checking out the little or newfound. i bet they're both running & would be a quick fun couple of runs that could be a park, paddle & portage situation. gotta love a PPP sitch.

I might be going to san diego later this month. I saw a post by WaterIsGod in april 2008 about paddling there. he was in the navy it looks like. does anyone know how to get in touch? OR does anyone want to go on a trip to san diego later this month? I need to start researching options and resources....

not sure about the parking situation yet. it looks like the brown's island boat ramp & foot bridge parking lot should be open. i was thinking about ferrying over to belle isle from the ramp. i'm guessing that the belle isle parking lot will be crowded. http://sportsbackers.org/events/riverrock/m...
