Hi Joanne,

Thanks to you and Tom for organizing this.
I need camping, 4 people for Friday and Saturday night and 4 permits for Saturday and Sunday.

Nolichucky?

Is anyone planning on doing a pre-WOR Nolichucky run if there is water?
I'd be interested in tagging along.
Thanks, Gerry

Upper James 3/3 @ 10:30am

Projections show the water at about 7.5 - 8ft and damn nice day.
Meeting a small group at Reedy at 10:30am to run the upper, all are welcome to join.
Cheers,

Benny

Anyone know who the 'others' are?
Bryan Kirk is cool and a great paddler, but he's not Tanya Shuman. 8)

Don't worry Mandy - I recorded all your clean rolls, they got smoother as the session went on. 8)
I'd say your first pool session was a success.
My first pool roll session was awful, I actually decided to quit paddling until I was convinced otherwise.

skirt fit

Cool trip report. Ditto, not supposed to happen. Mountain surf (not bungee) and Wildwasser regular skirts are the best that I know and never had any problem with. Snapdragon works very well too and is easy to use. Check out this mountain surf fit guide; http://www.mountainsurf.com/spray_fit.html Mor...

Savage Release

I'll be in Canada this weekend to paddle the Gull river so I won't be at the Savage.

The Savage dam doesn't release water often and when they do, they don't publish it. So this may be a unique experience.

Here is a handy web page.

Excitement

Awesome weekend - lots of fun. Actually during the trip there was some excitement and maybe a lesson learned - and here it is; Always check the stitching on the grab-loop of your skirt (K1) before your run. One of our friends' was hanging literally by a thread. When this was noticed we rigged a stra...

underwear?!

Tim,
You may want to hang on to those, because if you park at Mayo with them, my guess is your car will never get broken into.

big water pictures

Wow! You want water.....?

If anyone is interested in pictures of the James at different levels, check out Scott Coopers web pictures. Scott is the guy on the river that kind of looks like 'Doc Brown' from Back to the Future.

Coastals Fundraiser

What a good idea for a coastals fundraiser!

Corn art! Now who wouldn't want an original 'Monster' in their front room?

I'd double my membership fee if I got one! Or a corn calendar!

For what its worth

Hey Guys, The best bang for your buck for roll practice & park and play is pipeline - just don't swim. Drive to the observation deck / Reynolds. The river right eddy is deep enough for rolling, and if you are class III boaters, third drop pipeline is a good hole to play in and, as you'll find co...
