Haven't paddled any whitewater in 3-4 years. Had some medical problems but am on the mend. Need a day on Hugenot Flats, then another getting moves back at Pony Pasture. So like a week or two I'll be interested.

Geezer looking for folks, especially other geezers or novices, to paddle upper James. Either weekdays or weekends fine for me, prefer mid morning but will paddle any time.

May be a blip next week, 3.6 predicted for Mon. I'll keep an eye and get in touch if we get a bit more.

Afraid 3.4 is just too boney for me. Will get in touch if river goes up a bit. Any possibility you can paddle weekdays during the day? Now and again get little blips like the one Wed past to 3.9 which I had a pleasant time paddling. But river gods usually don't give us those blips of weekends.

Not sure what you mean by bit of novice, but here goes. Upper James, Pony Pasture to Reedy Creek, is right low these days. I did it last week same level as today and likely for a while. Pretty sure I'd like to join you. Seems a good idea to paddle my ancient rec kayak, lot more room and skirt is e-z on off. 8 am is not at all my time of day, but I guess I owe the river at least that much. OK if I let you know for sure Fri evening?

Definitely bring your gear. The predicted flow for when you're here is 4.2-4.4, a bit on the low side, but not yet to summer boney at below 4. I'd suggest you do a post for each of the trips you're looking at b/c most folks do either UJ or LJ but not both. Putting in after work is pretty common this...

Anyone interested in doing UJ this weekend? Level looks good all weekend. I'm free Sat all day (tho I ain't no early bird) and can paddle Sunday if we put in by about noon. What's a good time for you? (Pretty much first come first serve, I guess.)
