Goshen is running today just under 500 cfs. We were out this morning and had a couple of nice runs. It snowed then sleeted. It should hold and probably go up on Sunday due to the precip. Plenty of water even if it stays like today.

If it bumps back up on Sunday you won't need to worry about having anyone to paddle the pass with. Just show up and there will be plenty of us out there.

How about Sunday paddle at Goshen? Level should come up nicely with the precip we get on Saturday. I'm not going to be able to come to Richmond so have fun if that's where you all end up.

I'm predicting it'll be in the 500 cfs neighborhood. Should come up again Sunday if you all are flexible.

If the level is good I'll probably join you all at Goshen. Leaving work early and going out for a session tomorrow afternoon actually, but I can never get enough of the pass.

Weather.gov streamflow predictions for Maury at BV thinks it will drop by overnight Thursday. I hope they are wrong.

Thanks, Alicia. Am watching gauge carefully. Seems like a lot of the rain soaked in. Maybe it will stay up for a day or two. I was planning to break out the bunny suit and poggie mitts.

Should be at the pass early afternoon for laps or extended run. Depends who shows. 800 cfs and steady. Exact timing to be determined.

Like Raymond said, the boaters 434/540 and Roanoke area paddlers Facebook groups will be your best bet to catch a last minute trip on Maury or in greater Roanoke area. Wednesday afternoon is looking like a possibility. If not that the James through balcony falls will probably be at a fun play level ...

Listen to Kurt. He is wise. Without significant rain in the next week you will be driving to the New River Gorge from Roanoke. That'd be your closest bet. All the closeby good stuff is way too LOW right now.

I've heard that its paddlers appreciation weekend and there will be a free meal at the Lower takeout around 6:30 PM on Saturday. This is apparently put on by the people of Elkhorn City for us boaters. Let's take them up on it!

Bob, if you set something up for Sunday please post. There is a chance, although small, that I could paddle on Sunday. Will not be available tomorrow or Saturday unfortunately.
