Saturday Maury if Running still 11:00?

Post by jeg2r »

Laura and John are leaving Charlottesville at 9:30 to paddle on Saturday. We should get to the Maury by 11. We are tenitively planing on starting on the Rockbridge Bath Section of the Maury and then John wants to paddle Goshen Pass. If the Maury is not running in the morning we will head else where.

It’s not the goal in the end that makes life worthwhile; it’s the savoring the marrow of every moment.

Hello Charlottesville boaters,
Would you mind if a Culpeper boater such as myself joined you on Saturday for the Maury or whatever else is running.

if it's still up I'm game for the goshen portion. Any time estimate for when you'll be ready for that?

all welcome, winter gear a must

Any one is welcome to join us though the water on the Maury is dropping fast and I don't know what it will be like tomorrow. It is going to be cold, I had a good paddler tell me that I had no business being on the water if the air and water temp don't add up to 80 degrees. It is paddle at your own risk. We are leaving the McGuffy Art center parking lot at 930. I don't know what time I will be at the Goshen gorge since I have never run this section of river before.

Maury Saturday

Water is dropping fast, but from the ledges down 600-700 cfs is still fun.I always heard if you cant make air/temp add up to 100, you have at least 5 minutes before the hypthermic arena. Guess it depends on how close you care to play it. We can be at the store at 11;30 and make a plan from there....Dake Cassen 540 864-6704

Are there 2 of you (john, John) and Laura? 3 is a safer number, regardless the formula used.
MichaelME was headed that way, until the drop. Look forward to boating with folks again.

Be safe, have fun
