O. C. T. Official Club Trip - Easy James River - June 10
6 mile float from Cartersville to Westview. 35 miles west of Richmond. Scenic, remote, tiny rapids are only riffles. If level is not too high this is an ideal river trip for beginners with limited paddling experience, provided you can swim.
Email David (link at the bottom of his post). I don't think he monitors the forum very much.
If you have any issues getting him, let me know and I'll be glad to help.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming....WOW What a ride! . . . . . Trying to live up to this, Priceless. As long as you have good insurance!
June 10 trip
I actually do monitor the forum. I like the forum. If someone responds to my post I get an email alert too.
The trip is definitely happening. Level will be nice and weather is summertime! 94 predicted high with 0% chance of rain. This section is six miles long and is lined with forest on both sides. If a building is visible I don't remember it. There are a couple of riffles but nothing that can be called a rapid. There are, however, a lot of cool rocks.
Plan is to meet at the "Park and Ride" at I-64 exit 167 "Oilville." The "Park and Ride" is on the southwest corner of the intersection.
Probably meeting at 10:30 am but check here for any changes.
If you are coming from the Hooville area or from Southside get in touch and we can possibly shorten your ride.
A short while ago I emailed the Gorillamangorilla that we are doing a repeat of this trip (or a nearby run) Sunday August 26.
