Mather Gorge-Little Falls
With water low in Richmond I'd like to take a trip up to the Potomac below Great Falls.
Mather Gorge and Little Falls is supposed to be a fun play run at it's current level (3.13'). I've never done either run but understand both sections are doable in the same day. Can anyone with experience on these sections confirm this and/or show the lines.
Forcast is 75 degrees Saturday and Sunday. Sunday is probably best for me.
Check out the AW link.

The upper is fun at 800cfs.raleighwood wrote:Gauley is releasing too about 800 cfs with weekend!
Raleighwood, I would like to travel next weekend, can you make sure that Wilson is around zero or better for the weekend.
Mather Gorge would be great too. JoAnn and I stopped to look at the falls last weekend. Boy was it big; I mean who can afford to build homes that big in the Great Falls area. But I should stay home and finish a paint job on my house.

Envelope – Free stationary taken from the Marriott while on a business trip.
Snowflake address label – sent to me free and had to be used up.
Stained glass stamp – It was more then three feet away from me when I decided to get them so you know I didn’t see them clearly
Butterfly and Sunflower stickers on the back – Also free and required because the glue on the envelope was so old it no longer stuck.

Some rapids get more difficult, others get easier, but overall it remains about the same. It is more technical but less pushy. It's been a while since I did a low water run on the UG. Iron Ring is one of those that definitely gets more difficult (i walked it, though I normally run it at the higher flows). Pillow was easier. The lines weren't very much different if I recall correctly.Dino358 wrote:Does the difficulty for the UG Drop with the water level, or does it get more technical and dangerous?
It's also a great time to see all those undercut rocks that are usually under water at the higher flows.
