OCT: May 3 and 4, any interest in camping on the 2nd and 3d?

Post by John and Linda VanLuik »

Any interest in camping at Whitt Riverbend Park, (administered by the town of Pearisburg) on the New, Friday May 2 and Saturday, May 3 for the trips on the New? If you are interested, I need to know NO LATER THAN APRIL 28th, this Monday!
Camping at Whitt Riverbend is a bit primitive; there is one sweet-smelling toilet and a pavillion. The beaufiul river and the creek at one end make up for the lack of facilities. Usually, parking is outside the gate and we need a key to drive in, which I can arrange if we know ahead of time that people are interested in camping. We can have a family site: 10 or less people OR a group site: 11 or more people get a group site. The cost is either $55 per night total or $5.00 per person per night. I need to know if enough people are interested to cover costs so I can make arrangements with Pearisburg. Let me know NO LATER THAN APRIL 28, Monday; I need to post by May 1 whether camping will or will not take place at Whitt Riverbend so people can plan accordingly.
Thanks,
Linda

Since there is not enough response to reserve the campground at Whitt Riverbend Park this weekend, we will not be camping there this weekend. Too bad, since Big Walker Creek runs by one side of Whitt RBP and with the rain, we may be on Big Walker as coordinators' choice.
