Good Day Coastals,
I am a solid IV boater from Minneapolis and will be in Richmond for a client and thought I would see if I could check out some whitewater while I am in town. I get in at about 5 on Tuesday so could do an evening run or try something after my client engagement on Wednesday. This is a long shot, especially since I would need to borrow a boat and a paddle (I can bring my other gear). I will have a rental car, so I could at least support a shuttle.
Just looking to keep up my hobby on the road.
Beggars can't be choosers so I will find my way into most any boat but I am pretty short so I generally don't have problems squeezing into boats.
Thanks,
John from Minneapolis

There is a Wednesday group that goes out at 5:15. You could join us.
What boats do you normally paddle? So we can have an idea what direction to look for.
Happy daze,
Mango

We have a project 65 (think that's what it is) and a small ammo. Not sure if that would work for you.
Anyone else out there got a more appropriate boat forJohn, that he could use Wed after work?

Any of the boats sound great to me. All of them will get me on the water and give me an option to play so I have no complaints taking any of them on the river. I get into Richmond at about 515 tomorrow, so I wouldn't be able to make it out any earlier than 6 perhaps, but I wouldn't mind hitting the water if you wanted to do a later run. I will bring my packable gear with me (spray skirt, pfd, helmet), just to make sure none of that holds me back (paddle + boat = more necessary...and will be excitedly borrowed). Thanks for the genorosity...really appreciate the opportunity to hit some whitewater while I am down there for work.
Also, logistically, do people meet at he put in or take out and if I can get a confirmed address or marker, that would probably be helpful in ensuring my prompt attendance.

I won't be there tonight, but will be paddling on Wednesday. Meeting at the 14th Street Takeout with the intention of leaving 5:15pm...........
I'll bring one of ours, but Nutter's sound more appropriate. What's your plan Nutter (Tuesday/Wednesday)?
Directions:
To the 14th Street Takeout:
From I-95 south bound, take exit 74B, turn right at stop light onto E. Franklin St., turn left at next stop light onto 14th St., stay on 14th St. As you pass the flood wall the access drive is immediately on the left.
From I-95 north bound, take exit 73 Maury St, at stop light turn right onto Maury St., then turn left onto E 2nd St., at light turn right on Hull/14th St. cross bridge. Turning right on the access drive just on the river side of the north side flood wall. The parking lot is tucked in the back by a water treatment building.

Hi wade,
I'm planning to join this evening, if that's all right.
Made it down the lower a few times last year, but haven't done it yet in 2013.

Thanks for the Southern hospitality this evening! I had a blast on the river and checking out the local watering hole at Legends. Much appreciated the boat, paddle and shuttle! Even though it was a bit lower level it was an amazing float and a lot of fun. Appreciate the support in helping me keep my addiction going on the road! Special thanks to Nutter for the boat and paddle!

Thanks Wade&Sejal, John, David and anyone else that may have helped me out during my swims yesterday. It was a sloppy run and a humbling experience for me, but I still had a good fun time out on the river thanks to you all. I appreciate it!
