Lower Tye Sat

Any interest in the lower Tye this Saturday, starting from Tye River Depot or the race start area?
Gages show 423 for Tye + 200 for Piney. That's a little higher than I've paddled this section. Is this a good level for a trip?

Paddled Depot to Rucker Run last Sun at combined (Tye/Piney) flow of 521cfs. That is plenty of water. Fun but not washed out. It is at about that level right now. By Sat. it will certainly drop some but probably still at a good level. I have paddled this section when it was mostly washed out but unfortunately, my note keeping from that day wasn't too good so don't have the cfs. :(

Sorry but I've never run this section before. Is the Tye River Depot at the takeout? I can't find it on a map.

EDIT: I think I found it on the map (cleverly disguised on Tye River Depot Lane) but it looks like it's the putin. How do we run shuttle? Again- apologies for being a Tye river nOOb.

Getting put in info

Sounds good. My wife and I will be camping at Holliday Lake State Park. (James River was booked :( ) I'll have my minivan so I'll have plenty of room for shuttling. The weather should be great-I'm really looking forward to it.

The put is is near the community of Tye River just off Us 29

Directions from US 29 (thanks Steve!)
From C-Ville: Left on Tye River Rd. off 29. If you cross the Tye you have gone too far. Approx 1 mi. to railroad overpass. Immediately after overpass left on S Powell Island Rd. Put in at the corner of Tye River Rd. and S. Powell Island.

From US 60 at Bent Creek, where it crosses the James
Go West on US60 to Piedmont Road-- 657, turn R. (The first river you cross is the Buffalo, keep going)
Follow Piedmont to Tye River Rd. 739, put in is just past the Tye River bridge.

Anyone else?
I'll be checking email until mid afternoon Fri.

The only part of the directions that is missing is that it is 37 miles between getting on Rt 29 off of I 64 in Charlottesville and turning left on Rt 739 (Tye River Road)

would like to join
