Cacapon River Fall Colors... Paw Paw Bends. Sat Oct 25

Post by larry gross »

We'll run the Cacapon, from Coldstream (downstream from Rt 50 Capon Bridge) to 127 Bloomery Pike takeout (Caudy's Castle) - unless water is too low, then we'd do the lower Cacapon or Paw Paw Bends on the Potomac River... minimal white water but fall colors scenic - 10-12 miles or so in distance.. figure 3-5 hours on water beyond shuttle time.

we'll likely meet at the 127 takeout at 10am unless changes are made, keep in touch to get latest details.

we need at least 3 people and two cars to make the trip!

thanks.

Larry - do you have a gauge minimum for the Coldstream to Rt 127 section that you go by? I see AW shows its running, but it uses a South Branch gauge instead of a Capacon gauge.

no.. it's a crap shoot!

if you can get your way through the Coldstream shallows.. you can go the rest!

paddling is an adventure! ;-)
