Seven Islands Sat 8-19

Post by TedMc »

I want to paddle my new canoe and take advantage of the Pulse.
Scottsville is 1270 cfs today, rises to 1800 cfs Saturday and drops back to 1270 cfs Sunday.
Weather will be pc 91 degrees with lower humidity winds wnw 4

Meet at New Canton takeout 1030 or if someone volunteers to sit the canoes at the Hardward put in, you can drop boats there and meet us a New Canton.
Post or call 804-218-1238 so that I may coordinate.

At 8 PM Friday there are 6 paddlers. Everyone has committed to go to the put in (Hardware) early and leave their boats and gear and leave at 10 AM to go to the takeout (New Canton). There will be two non drivers at the putin who will stay and watch over things. I will use my van to shuttle four drivers back to the putin.

The pulse has been partially held at one of the dams up stream of Lynchburg and little rise in the river is expected. The water level should be about Wed. level of 1300 cfs which is better than most August flows. Caroline will not be coming this trip.

Thank you Ted for putting together the trip and running shuttle.
You made the right choice not to take that new boat down the river at this level
