UPDATE - O.C.T. June 2 - Walker Creek
Posted: Fri May 25, 2018 9:00 am
- UPDATE - We're going to paddle Walker Creek, meet at the put-in, which is in the park at the junction of rte 100 and rte 811, at 10:30 AM Saturday. Let me know if you are coming, here or at 434-444-0157.
Too soon to set which section, but we will do the New from Pembrook to Bluff City, meeting at the put-in at Snidow Park Landing

-OR-
if the water is at the right level we will do Walker Creek from the bridge near J&J Grocery on Pulaski Giles Turnpike to Egglrston on the New River.
The New here is wide with ledges and some big, long wave trains that can be a little pushy (II-II+).
Walker Creek is narrow, quick, and technical, and could have occasional wood (II+).
Either one is a fun day, but Walker Creek doesn't often have water for us at this time of year.
Let me know if you are interested - preferably by Thursday evening, as I will be camping at Claytor Lake State Park, and my cell coverage is spotty in the park.
