Moormans 6/2

Post by STRAKER »

Not to try to poach kens trip but I need to stay a little closer to home tomorrow. Moormans looks to be a good level tomorrow and I’m thinking of running from sugar hollow dam down to Milton. This is a II-III run. Sing out or call me /text me if this is something you want to join in on. 434-242-11 four eight. Chris
Kayak-$1000 dollars...........Gas for the shuttle $60 dollars..........Watching your friends get munched by a bus-sized hole.......PRICELESS.

Not poached at all, ... , have fun.

Route 33 is apparently closed as it crosses the Blue Ridge due to a landslide, so folks know. That's part of what drove me south.

Eesh, raining hard here again in eastern Rockingham County.

Special strainer note, when we ran below the dam recently there was a particularly bad one that came up suddenly. I'm pretty sure it's within a couple hundred yards below a low-water bridge. It's some sort of concrete reinforced pipe or something running diagonally from river left down to river right. The far river right slot that I ran was ugly. Eddy out below a screwy slanted hole one boat at a time or, well, ..... I don't even want to think about it.

I'd say stop on the left and scout out a different option.
