I plan to meet Saturday morning, October 5, at 10:00 am in the parking lot by the park restaurant. Come in the main gate and continue past the lodge on the left to the next parking lot on the left.
There is camping in the park and lodging in the park. Go to the Breaks Interstate Park website to register for camping or lodging. There is also the Gateway motel just outside of the park, 276-531-8481.
We will run the Upper Russell Fork, putting in below the dam on the Powell river and taking out before the gorge section. We will then set shuttle for the Lower Russell Fork and paddle that section from the bottom of the gorge to Elkhorn City, KY.
Sunday we do a shorter run on the Upper Russell Fork putting in at Bartlick.
There is a tentative release on the Russell Fork for Oct 4 depending on conditions. The Army Corp of Engineers site for releases is http://www.lrh-wc.usace.army.mil/wm/?wwsched

I'll be camping at Breaks and will paddle the upper both days.
