OCT - SF Shenandoah Sunday, Aug 29 - CANCELLED

I hate to do this, but I need to cancel this trip. I'll contact those that expressed interest directly.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The plan is to paddle the section from the town of Shenandoah to Grove Hill. This is about a 9-mile class I+ section of river.
For now, plan to meet at the put-in at 10am Sunday which is just off Long Ave in Shenandoah. Park in the small parking lot right in front of the power station downstream of the dam.
My notes indicate that ~250 cfs on the Lynwood gauge and 330 cfs on the Luray gauge is canoeing zero for this section. Levels are currently above that, but with a hot week forecasted and slim rain chances, levels may approach the minimums. If levels do drop below my minimums, we could move the trip to the next section downstream which has 2-3 miles of flat water behind a dam. It would require portaging around the dam, but is more low-water friendly.
Please let me know who’s coming and stay tuned to this thread for any changes due to water conditions.
P.S. Even though this is not “The Ice Cream Run”, the ice cream stand is just right up the street from the put-in!
