On Saturday, August 13, I am coordinating a trip on the Smith River in Virginia (Philpott Dam to Bassett). This is a Class 2 section just over 6 miles and about 2 ½ hours. The water is cold (40-50 degree range), and it’s a scenic section with several play spots. The releases have been at lower levels of 280 – 300 CFS.
We will meet at 11:00 a.m at the takeout (North Bassett Canoe Access) at Trenthill Drive in Bassett, Virginia.

Re: OCT Sat Aug 13 Smith River in Bassett
The forecast is for temperatures in the high 70's and sunny to partly cloudy, so we should have good weather.
We have several planning to join us, so I look forward to seeing everyone.
