The first whitewater recreational release for 2023 from Savage River Dam is scheduled for Saturday, June 3, 2023. The release is scheduled to be 1,000 cfs from 10AM to 4PM. Times for ramping and after-event flows will be announced on the website (see below) the week of the release.

The 2023 release schedule for Jennings Randolph Lake and Savage River Dam is posted on the public website:

This page also includes three-day projections for release rates for Jennings Randolph Lake and Savage River Dam. Scroll down to find the recreational release schedule.

This information is subject to change as hydrologic conditions dictate.

Anyone planning to catch the savage release? Looking for a group to hopefully tag along with.

Suprio - I’ve run it a few times, it’s a great run. Been several years though, so I’d like to find one or two more comfortable on it. I’ll keep you in the loop.
