Take this opportunity to paddle a legendary river.
Coastals will have trips on the New River Gorge and on
sections of the New above the gorge.
Location: New River - camping at Rays Campground,
Hico, WV
Paddling: Saturday/Sunday, July 20/21

Camping: Ray’s is in Hico (pronounced HIGHcoh) near the
intersection of routes 60 and 19 which is about five miles
north of where the New goes under route 19. Head west
very briefly on 60 and turn right on Sunday Road. Sunday
Road is narrow so take it easy. Ray’s is about a mile on the
left. 304-658-4386. Reservations are not required for tent
sites. Some tent sites are now reservable. Dogs must be
leashed. Please respect quiet hours.
Dinner: On Saturday, a potluck dinner for those who wish
to share. If participating, please bring a main dish and
a side dish to share. (suggested: last name starting with
A-F bring salad; G-L dessert; M-R appetizer; and S-Z Side
Dish).
The Coastals board meeting will be held Wednesday, July
17 at 7 p.m. via Zoom. The meeting link will be posted in
the Community Forum.
