Welcome home!

I kinda lost track of what sort of stuff you've been paddling. As you can see from other posts there's a group forming in Richmond tomorrow and IF we get some decent rain we're looking at the Goshen area.

Are you done with the Navy or just stationed here for a while?

I am still in the navy

Still in the navy with special boat team twelve out in san diego. Last year I paddled all of about 6 weekend trips on the river

It was the kern, kaweah, brush creek I wanted to get up to dry meadow creek to do the tea cups but the group that was gonna take me had some problems earlier that weekend. The upper kaweah is a whole lot of fun
here is a link

this is for the insane the link below not many people do this run but if you are fearless its a lot of fun
http://cacreeks.com/kern-xxx.htm

the river season lasted a long time this year because of all the snow that they had usualy the season stops around june or july it went into august and almost october, and some of the flows that they had were insane with 7 foot standing wave on a river 25 feet wide.
it isn't a very good river for playing on but at extream highs good waves form and thats about the only play stuff you will find. the holes on the kern are almost all keepers except for the little two rocks that are all over the river that was my only swim this year poped over a 4 foot rock into a keeper and hurt my shoulder trying to stay up. I sat in the hole for about 5 min befor bailing wanted to make sure my friend was ready for me nasty rapids below were i got stuck lots of people die in the nasty stuff mostly swimmers and inner tubers there is a couple of big sives with very tight lines to hit to get through.

Other then that it has been ocean surfing in a play boat A LOT of fun. the best tiem i had was last week it came up to 15 feet, and you go to do a blunt and just keep spinning it crazy how high you can get off a bounce its just sooo fast comming down a 15 foot face. but you better have a tight grip on your paddle or it will get taken away from you. I tought a friend how to kayak and unfortunatly he told me he ahd to work that weekend but they let him have it off and i didn't find out about untill i got the boat back when the side was smashed in and the bow was bent up he had been throw into the cliffs and then swam out while the boat took a beating into the cliffs for an hour and a half befor he got it out. so we spent the night building a seat and fixing the dents.

I would like to get out to goshen but O yeah for got to tell yall that I am getting married in a couple of months :c) but I have her with me and that last time i took her kayaking it didn't go so well so I don't want to leave her here and she wont come with me so it is a toss up of weather I can make it or not.
