Based on the interest I thought I had been hearing, I went ahead and sent in the $50 non-refundable deposit. The cabin is actually $170 a night which, with 10 people, would be a lot cheaper than hoteling it I figured we?d split it evenly amongst the people who stayed there. However, I was told today that some folks were thinking of hoteling it nonetheless.
Assuming there is good water, how much interest is there, really, in staying in the cabin? Honestly, I would prefer it as it would provide a better place to cook which I?d much rather do than eat in Webster Springs. It is also close to the buffet breakfast that Camp Caesar is putting on both mornings as well as the Festival. Let me know if you?re interested in staying in the cabin or if I need to figure out a way to get out of it. (Losing $50 to Camp Caesar would make me angry.
For those of you who don?t know about Webster Springs, it is a whitewater festival near some great streams in West Virginia. This year, I?m looking at running III / IV creeks (Upper Cranberry, Upper Meadow, Back Fork of the Elk) but would really love it if someone stepped up to do some of the II / III stuff in the area (Lower Cranberry, Cherry, Elk, etc.).
Also, I'm probably going to take off Friday, 3/30 and paddle somewhere in order to parlay this trip with the LVM video premier at Sweetbriar College on 3/29.
Thanks.
