:D Join me for the first annual Coastals trip to the Stonycreek Rendezvous in Western Pennsylvania.

The Rendezvous will be April 20, 21, and 22. The festival site is at Greenhouse Park in Tire Hill (near Johnstown), PA. This party/celebration will have something for everyone. See the following weblink for details: http://www.benscreekcanoeclub.com/Rendezvous.htm

There will be guaranteed water on Stonycreek (scheduled release) and ten rivers and creeks from class I thru V are within 20 minutes of the Stonycreek Rendezvous festival site. http://www.benscreekcanoeclub.com/Creeks.htm

Camping is available at the festival site and alternative accomodations are available near by. http://www.benscreekcanoeclub.com/Creeks.htm

Travel time from Richmond is approximately five hours (same as the Yough which is about 1 hour south of the event). http://tinyurl.com/33lczr
Since this trip is being organized on short notice please let me know of interest via the message board.

Great looking trip dude, but don’t you need to change your username now.

This must be a great trip if the Coastals International Trip leader of the year is keeping it domestic.

Scott,

I am writing to request a spot on your Stoney Creek trip. If it has not already filled, please include me in future communique.

Is there an application? If needed, I can furnish my resume and references upon request.

Thanks you.

Mr. Japtrash,

Couple of us have been planning on hitting the Stony Rendezvous as well. Anyone been before? Reports from some NOVA/MD paddlers that it's a hoot.

Email I got on the accommodations:

The accomodation at the festival are about 10 porta-johns, about 5 pavillions you can camp near or under if you are there early fri. as these spots fill up fast. Otherwise there is a very large field right next to the festival sight where you can camp. The festival is only about 10 minutes from the city of Johnstown Pennsylvania so if there are also a number of hotels within close vacinity to the rendezvous. You can also primitively camp right next to the river either at the put-in about a half mile down the road that parallels the river or the take out, but it tends to get crowded at the latter. Hope this info helps, and let those in your group know that sat morning there is a friendly playboater X race at the put-in around 10am and there are cash and prizes for the event and there are categories for all ability levels

Hoping to be up Friday in time for the first race.

I'm going to Rendezvous

I'm going to the Rendezvous. I went last year. It was a good time. Camping was a muddy mess so we ended up in a hotel. They had heaters in the bathroom so our gear was dry and warm. I don't know if I'll be leaving Thursday or Friday yet.
Carpool anyone?

I too have paddled with Kessman & Karl Gordan.....

AAAAAAAWWWWWWWwwwww SNAP!!!!

It’s ON now!!!

April is turning in to an unprecedented month for this Club! Dave K started it off with Webster Springs, Karla Sue is following with his perennial favorite Tellico Trip and now, Scott Wagner drops a bomb with his first domestic trip – The Stoney Creek Rendezvous.

What’s next??? I bet the CYA have something up their sleeve for the Club meeting in late April but what?????

And the action just doesn’t stop. Looking ahead, May is just as action packed! That month is kicked off by Karla Sue’s 40th birthday which coincides with the lesser paddling festival of Cheat Fest. Then there’s the annual Lower Big Sandy trip and Dave K completes the circle with a Cheoah / Ocoee trip over Memorial Day!

!!!!BRILLIANT!!!!

If we get enough interest in camping I'll try to travel up early enough to secure a pavillion.

No way, bro. I just call it like I see it and this Club is really starting to step it up and offer some smokin' trips to the intermediate / advanced boater.

What trip do you plan to lead next, Karla Sue? With this kind of a start, I think the PBP can put themselves back on the map this year.

I'll be leaving Richmond sometime Fri. I took the day off. I'll be staying in a hotel. No festival camping for this old grumpy b*stard.

Get off of my lawn!

Rain!

Rain is forecast in the Stonycreek area the next four days. I don't know how long these creeks hold water but this can't be bad.

Any additional input on accomodations?
