Post by hairystrawberry »

in case you haven't seen the commercials running in the last few weeks, there's a boatercross tomorrow (Sat 5/16 @ 1 pm) at Belle Isle during the riverrock festival. if interested, check it out @ http://sportsbackers.org/events/riverro ... _james.htm

parking

Post by hairystrawberry »

not sure about the parking situation yet. it looks like the brown's island boat ramp & foot bridge parking lot should be open. i was thinking about ferrying over to belle isle from the ramp. i'm guessing that the belle isle parking lot will be crowded.

I'll be there. Spectator only. Good entertainment value.

The course was definitely a challenge at the water level we had today. I was extremely nervous once I found out we had to come in river right and then ferry across and then out once again. The river right eddy below Hollywood was a litle easier than I expected but then the eddy across made up for that. Thank you to all of the safety and the boaters who assisted with getting me, my boat and paddle reunited.

It was a good challenge and look forward to next year.
It was impossible, so I did it. Now everyone can do it.

It was a nice day on the James. Hollywood was pumping. The 1st annual riverrock! Took a few pix from the sidelines. Thanks to those who participated and all who organized.
