If the levels hold overnight, I would like to do a morning run FRIDAY on Goshen or Balcony.
when I say morning, i mean EARLY though, put on around 8:00, 9:00 at the absolute latest (i have to be back in Staunton to be at work at 3)
Let me know who's interested. I always have my phone on me, might not be able to check the forum regularly.

Talking to a friend or two about running balcony or the maury below the pass sometime tomorrow. Might be able to go earlier in the day. We live in staunton too so I'll give you a call when I figure it out.
EARLY Friday Moormans

Eileen and I decided it was too late this afternoon to gather up gear and get on Moormans River in time to be safely done before dark. Assuming it still is above 4.5' (5.0' if falling) on the USGS gauge near Free Union
(
http://waterdata.usgs.gov/va/nwis/uv/si ... 2620,00062) tomorrow morning at the 6:45 a.m. reading, we'll meet at White Hall (State Routes 614 and 810) to set shuttle at 8:00 a.m.
We'll paddle Doyles River and Moormans River from State Route 674 (off Route 810 about 1.2 mi. north of White Hall) to Millington Bridge (State Route 671, 1.2 mi. north of Route 614.) This is NOT the run preferred by the most adventuresome whitewater paddlers among us, but avoids barbed wire and is quite do-able in a few hours.
Please call my home number this evening and leave a message or send e-mail to my Embarqmail account if you're going to join us. (I'll be out and won't have my mobile phone on this evening.) Eileen needs to be at work by 1:00 p.m., so we need to be pretty efficient getting on the river in the morning, but we'd love to have company.

@vanate: i think the 'pasture is crashing too fast to still be running tomorrow
@rangeron: if moormans is still +5, i could do that, since its closer than balcony
@laura: if we are running moormans would you be interested in that, its closer to cville than goshen or balcony
If nothing in the nelson/rockbridge/augusta area is running, balcony is at 8.5 ft and rising (as of 7pm thursday). Im pretty sure it will still be large tomorrow, and we could go there, as long as we are on between 8-9, and off in enough time for me to get to work @ 3 in Staunton.
