I want to thank Wallace, Gromit, Barb, Grannyaker, and the rest of the gang for shepherding me and cleaning up my carnage today on my first run on lower. I owe a lot of people a lot of beers for chasing all my stuff.
After 2 wet exits, I learned a lot of things, including the following:
1. Hollywood looks a lot different than I thought it would. Then again, I hadn't thought about what it would look like upside down.
2. Same with Pipeline.
3. Barb is a sponge hog.
I will probably go back to the upper for a few weeks to work on the things you guys helped me identify today, but I look forward to getting back on the lower soon. And buying all those beers . . . and staying in my boat . . .
Now I have to go nurse my wounds with some Smoking Loon pinot noir and start the Harry Potter book - yes, once again trying to keep up with the 13-year-old (with the book, not the red wine).

Glad you came out! It was fun paddling with you! I swam 3 times on my first run downtown - hollywood, above pipeline and 25 seconds later still above pipeline! Keep practicing and see you out next time!

Sponge hog, huh? It just looked like such a lonely sponge, floating downriver without his fearless leader! I think rescueing such a valuable item deserves at least two beers!
You did great going thru Richmond - you forgot to list one thing learned on the trip - don't follow Barb thru Hollywood!
Enjoy Harry Potter - but get back on the river soon (and don't tell us the ending!).

Never admit that you don't like a possible nick-name, that can be what makes it stick

I am the paddler formerly known as Wallace. (I still say I should have been Gromit).

If ya keep pushing fer another nick name- I am sure that the corn can oblige-- I do snot know that take two will be any better. Once the master mind Silver Fox (formerly known as Monster) gets started the thoughts just a keep a coming and spiraling down. But, I would be interested to know what the alias would be.
