Upper James Monday 8/10--6PM @ Reedy Creek

Post by John »

Upper James (Pony Pasture to Reedy Creek). 5:30PM Monday or Tuesday evening. Hopefully there will still be water in the river and the heat will have faded a bit. Newbies welcome.

John:
I would like to join you Monday evening. However I don't get off work until 5. Could we go at 6 or 6:15ish? I am a newbie, with a little experience. Give me a call if you think the time will work out.
Thanks
Robbie

I'm not sold on any particular time. Anytime after 5:30PM is fine with me. I'll go when people can join. So, we can meet up around 6PM and go from there. Plenty of daylight and the later we go the cooler the weather will be.

That sounds good to me. I am gonna do my best to leave work by 5. From work is about 45 minutes to Reedy. Hopefully I will see you there.

Hey, I'm 90% certain that I can make it.
I'm fairly new to kayaking, but I've done the BeginnerWhiteWater and the SwiftWaterRescue courses.

Like to join ya'll. Once a pretty good CIII paddler, now trying to come back after 5 yr off the water. I'll be in a dark green Explorer. What vehicles/boats should I look for?

I will be in a Grey Chevy pickem up with an orange Jackson Mega Rocker, and a confused look on my face.

Whoooo... it's hot. Bring your water bottles!! Good reason to get wet.

See folks tonight.

Fun paddle today. Very cool of John and Jessie (sp) to show us around and give some solid pointers!

It was a fun run indeed: excellent company, enough water and not so damned hot. Thanks for the chance to give back some of what I've gotten, though I still have a big debt to pay off. Love to do it again in whatever combination can be managed. Thanks.

I had a great time on the paddle. Thanks John. It was great meeting Jesse and Jay and I look forward to paddling with them more. Next time hopefully won't get locked in a Pony Pasture :D
