There's one in ever village (pack), I guess we've found ours.jeep4me99 wrote:Well Amy, I'm not weather guy with a bad toupee, but I think rain comes from the sky. Air can only hold a certain amount of water, when there is a sudden drop in temperature, the water vapor turns in liquid and falls to the earth. Think someone told me about that once in school or something.pearsaab wrote:i say we wait and see...it is hard to believe it is going to bump that much today...did we get that much rain??? where's it coming from? amy

So many tree's, I wish I'd had more to drink!
Rivers going up but not quickly so I think I'll wait til Tuesday too and take my chances on getting a kitchen pass for then. Hey Jeep, just tell her it's your birthday and you expect ice cream and cake at 14th street 8 pm sharp. A new paddle may be nice too.

Gauge geeking
Hi Amy, confessed gauge geek here.pearsaab wrote:i say we wait and see...it is hard to believe it is going to bump that much today...did we get that much rain??? where's it coming from? amy
The big rains happened Saturday about a hundred miles west of Richmond near the Blue Ridge mountains. For totally self-centered and narrow-minded Blue Ridge boaters this is as it should be as the water will reach Richmond eventually anyway so it may as well flow through the creeks first.
The biggest pulse delivery rivers were the Rockfish and Tye, both of which crested at around 8,000 cfs albeit very briefly.
It's a short pulse so don't expect it to last more than a day or so if that.
Cheers,
Ken

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but the moments that take our breath away.
