LJ Monday Bubble

Post by kyakbum »

Just noticed a 4.9 bubble predicted for the James on Monday. Anybody interested in running the Lower about 5 pm?

The river level forcast has been updated and there is quit a change. It looks like the bubble is moving slower than 1st predicted. The crest is now scheduled for tomorrow (8/16) @ 6pm - crested level to be 5.2'.
As always, things change! So I will keep an eye on the guage today, but I am planning for the paddle tomorrow...not this afternoon. As of now, the prediction for this afternoon is for a 4' high.
If anyone else has any additional info, please pass it on!

Just checked the Westham site. Its saying 4.7 for 8 pm and cresting at 5.2 at 2 am then dropping rapidly. Is there a better predictor than Westham?

Pretty much looks like paddles today and tomorrow at 5 will be about the same level. Don't think anyone will be able to hit it at 5' unless they do an early morning tuesday paddle.

I can't paddle tomorrow...so I'll be there at 5pm today. 4.7 is better than 3.4.

Currently, the forecast is for a 5.2ft crest @ 0600 (6am) Tuesday morning. Just sayin '.
Generally, I think that if I have the opportunity to paddle, and I've got something else to do or I feel like I shouldn't go for some reason, then I force myself to go and I always have a great time. So, I guess when in doubt -- Go, Paddle. -- Tommy Hilleke

Im looking at thius website-

http://water.weather.gov/ahps2/hydrogra ... ,1,1,1,1,0

Tuesday may not work for the Bull and I so we're gonna go today. Gotta say Im skeptical though cause the river was still really low at 7 this morning on my walk with the dog down at Pony Pasture.

Think I'm out now. Father in law is having surgery again today, (he had one yesterday). Tomo is my bday, so I'll talk to the wifey tonight and see if she will let me out for a bit. Levels to look better for tomorrow though keith. slow rising today.

Well Amy, I'm not weather guy with a bad toupee, but I think rain comes from the sky. Air can only hold a certain amount of water, when there is a sudden drop in temperature, the water vapor turns in liquid and falls to the earth. Think someone told me about that once in school or something.
