I'll be headed up late Friday night this year. Will probably have an open seat for the ride up if anyone's interested and on the same schedule. One disclaimer though... my bus is headed to Friendsville, not Teter's.
Generally, I think that if I have the opportunity to paddle, and I've got something else to do or I feel like I shouldn't go for some reason, then I force myself to go and I always have a great time. So, I guess when in doubt -- Go, Paddle. -- Tommy Hilleke

I'm going up Friday, coming back Saturday. I'm planning on paddling the race Fri evening. I could paddle something early Saturday before heading back.

I dont know. I am planning on staying at Teeters with everybody and find a group to boat something. I've got a buddy coming down from Quebec arriving Thursday night as well. We may boat with a summer camp buddy of mine who is in the KeelHaulers Canoe Club.

Do you have recommendations? What advice do you have?

I'm heading up Thursday after work, Camping at Teter's with the Cville crowd, Paddling Friday-Sunday.
I'm actually planning to do the race Fri night, but will paddle something beforehand on Friday as well.
I'm leading a "dealer's choice" trip on Sunday, so PM me if you're interested, and any river requests you may have.

I'm pretty sure my plan is:

Friday - LY or Cheat
Saturday - UY
Sunday - Class on LY

You guys can stay at my place in Friendsville if you want.

I plan to go up Friday night and come home Sat. night.
Envelope – Free stationary taken from the Marriott while on a business trip.
Snowflake address label – sent to me free and had to be used up.
Stained glass stamp – It was more then three feet away from me when I decided to get them so you know I didn’t see them clearly
Butterfly and Sunflower stickers on the back – Also free and required because the glue on the envelope was so old it no longer stuck.

is the race Friday night on the Canyon or Narrows section?

I'd like to hit the LY with you on Friday and if Quebecoise friend does come, she got hurt the other day, she'll be with us. She have river is the Gatineau, Rouge, etc.

This would be my first descent down either section of the Cheat.

I'm pretty sure the UY is outta my league. Maybe not her league.

I'm thinking I'll head up on Friday night. Anyone planning on paddling anything easier than the UY on Saturday? The cheat cannon would be a PFD for me but I think it's within my skill set. Also maybe upper Big Sandy. Also comfortable on the LY but I would probably bring my smaller boat for that.
