Lower Yough OCT - October 26th & 27th
The 37th Annual Bill Gordon Lower Yough trip will be October 26th & 27th. We will meet Saturday morning at 10:00 at the put-in (AKA 'The Grassy Knoll') in Ohiopyle. Meeting time Sunday morning will be 9:30.
It may be cold, so please dress accordingly. The Yough runs free until spring so launch tickets and shuttle tokens will not be necessary.
Please let me know if you are planning on attending. You may email, call (contact info in the roster) or send a message via the message board.
Please come willing to help with shuttle rather than doing your own thing. Be courteous of everyone on the trip.
Benner's campground will be closed. Tall Oaks is open year round. If there is sufficient interest we can try to get a pavilion & sites near it.
Dave Kesmann has offered the Triple K Ranch on Water Street in Friendsville, MD for those that want to stay there.
His rules are basic common sense things that you would want to have people follow at your house or see at your neighbor's house. They are:
"Boater relations in town are still (and probably will be forever) strained. There’s not a lot we can do to make things better but there are plenty of things we can do to make them worse. A few ways to be a part of the solution if you’re staying at the Triple K:
* If you’re sleeping in your car, you must be parked in the driveway
* You can only park in front of my property along the street by the river or in the driveway. If all of the spots are taken, please park on Maple St.
* Please leave a parking spot for my tenant.
* If you’re sleeping in your tent, please set it up in the back yard behind the house so as to have minimal impact on the neighbor’s view shed.
* Please use one of the bathrooms inside the house.
* Be extra nice to everyone you see in town.
* Try to have a minimal impact on the traffic on Water St.
* In general, anything you can do to make it look like less of a gypsy camp is good and anything you do to make it look like more of a gypsy camp is bad."

Dave, My plan is to pull into Tall Oaks Friday evening. Will find the group on the Knoll on Saturday at 10 - but don't wait on me. Tom McCloud
