We had 12 Paddlers yesterday on a beautiful midsummer day - mid 80s, low humidity, and blue skies. The water level was ~600 cfs when the Buchanan and Buena Vista gages are combined. People have run itower, but I doubt I will run it that low again.
Paddlers were Terri in an IK, Chris, GK, Savannah, John Van Luik, Steve Toots, Edwin, Stacy, and Josh in kayaks, and Pete Runge, Bill Hamill, and me in canoes.
It was low and there were a few stuck boats along the way. 2 swims that I'm aware of, both mine. 1st in Confluence rapid, 2nd at Balcony, where my hand, arm, and back slammed into a boulder after I got myself pitched out. I've got a sprained thumb, river rash on my forearm, and 2 cracked ribs.
It was a beautiful day, and we saw turtles of all sizes, blue heron, and an adult and juvenile bald eagle. Everyone seemed to have a great day, though I couldn't lift my boat and needed help loading up at the takeout.
Sadly, this takes me out of CCC Week of Rivers next week.
Have a great summer!

oh no, Bill! I'm so sorry - what a bummer, and I bet those ribs hurt!
I hope you heal fully & quickly. You know I feel for ya as I will miss WOR, too.
take good care, Alicia
