Let us know how it went! Swim confessions and carnage reports are welcome, but it's not fair to tell on your buddies!

NC/GA weekend

Post by jmorr014 »

Made it down to the Green for Friday and Saturday and got to watch the race Saturday. Thanks to Trafford for taking me down. Highlight was getting to run the Gorilla after having to walk it last year when it was super low.

Saturday evening I headed to SC to meet Sejal, Greg, Guy and KessmanN with the Tallulah as the plan for Sunday. We made it to GA and started down the stairs around noon only to find a massive traffic jam. If ya wanna do the Tallulah, get there early especially on a Cheoah/green race weekend. Tallulah went well and I got to run the center line at Oceana which I have been thinking about for a while.

Monday KessmanN and I got a quick run on 3 of the drops on the Nanatahala Cascades. Didn't run the last two because it was a HUGE slide at high water with a monster hole at the bottom and that side was the only way to get to the 5th and runnable drop.

Great weekend to end the East coast swing for me as I was planning to head back to CO later this week, just might have to stick it out a couple days for the rain we're getting..... Anyone interested in Nelson Co creeking???

Justin-
Sounds like you had a great trip. I am definetly looking to paddle either thursday or friday. I am tied up over the weekend with boyfriend duties. Would love to hit nelson county, especially if the piney or statons come up. Got on Statons a few weeks ago and would love to get on it again.

The Cheoah/ Tallulah trip was a blast. You couldn't ask for better weather in November.

Thanks for getting it together KessmanN.
Envelope – Free stationary taken from the Marriott while on a business trip.
Snowflake address label – sent to me free and had to be used up.
Stained glass stamp – It was more then three feet away from me when I decided to get them so you know I didn’t see them clearly
Butterfly and Sunflower stickers on the back – Also free and required because the glue on the envelope was so old it no longer stuck.

For me it was:

Saturday >>>> Cheoah
Sunday >>>> Tallulah
Monday AM >>>> Cascades
Monday PM >>>> NOC

It was a great weekend. We were really blessed with some awesome free camping venues (Woodall Saturday and RIGHT next to one of the Cascades on Sunday). It almost made up for the ‘zoo’ we stayed at Friday night.

It was fun (  ) to see Greg and Sejal all super stoked about their first descent of the Tallulah. Thanks to Jug and Guy for their help with that. It reminded me of when I was but a wee tot. ( http://www.coastals.org/forum/viewtopic ... 05e9abc70e )

AND we found out that Tag-A-Long / Cheesecake Blizzards are back at DQ!

Thanks to Sejal for getting me down there and Juggy for getting me back.
