I am going, 9am the earliest, 7pm the latest. Definitely upper if it's over 10, maybe lower 8-10, definitely lower under 8. The GRAPH is not updating automatically but they update it when I email them; tabular data seems to be updating.
Here's the current forecast:

With all the rain west, there is a chance that it might hold for next weekend too. Chesdin should be filling up and as long as there is water over the dam, you are in good shape. Keep me in mind if you do decide to run it. It is my favorite river by far.slo2rol wrote:I'd also like to get a run in on the Appomattox while it's runningbut I don't know if I'll get clearance from the better half for that much paddling this weekend.
Do keep in mind that there are some trees across the river that might get interesting above about 5 feet. When we ran the app last weekend it was at 4.5 and we were a bit tight under a tree or two...
The App is expected to be above flood stage by tomorrow. The gauge on Coastals' link page does not reflect current level. The National Weather Service has issued flood warning for App (see below). The strainers we avoided last w/e may not be an issue (i.e., underwater). OTOH, the bridge over Pipeline and the whirlpool near the bridge may be major problems.

sunday
I'll be at mayo takeout about 11:45-12. Running the whole (upper and lower) may be a good option.
