Stonycreek Rendezvous

Let us know how it went! Swim confessions and carnage reports are welcome, but it's not fair to tell on your buddies!

Stonycreek Rendezvous

Post by eurotrash »

The Stonycreek Rendezvous was a casual but fun event with pleasant weather (cold nights), moderate crowds and amusing entertainment. Stonycreek Canyon is a III+ run at Saturday and Sunday levels of 2.5-2.8’ that was easy to read & run. Play spots were sufficiently abundant to entertain everyone in the group. Russ and Mike arrived in Johnstown early enough on Friday to catch a run on the gorge before it dropped out. Many creeks in the immediate area to class V+ with adequate rainfall. Crossed paths with Shrew and her Michigan entourage but they kept a more civilized schedule.

Thanks for puting this non-international trip together, it was fun.
Envelope – Free stationary taken from the Marriott while on a business trip.
Snowflake address label – sent to me free and had to be used up.
Stained glass stamp – It was more then three feet away from me when I decided to get them so you know I didn’t see them clearly
Butterfly and Sunflower stickers on the back – Also free and required because the glue on the envelope was so old it no longer stuck.

I guess that's Detroit style: put on at noon (or later), and we play all day. Eurotrash got down the river in two hours. Some how it took our group over four. We had two fun days and showed some beginners a new run. Can't wait for next year!
