Lower Gauley 9/19 *UPDATE W/ MEET TIME*

Post by Dave K »

I’m running the Lower Gauley the Friday of Gauley Fest. First timers with qualified resumes are welcome.

Safety boaters would be much appreciated as well.

If interested, contact me at dave dot kessmann at fgwa (period) com.

Thanks.

Let’s figure on meeting in the parking lot of the Food Land in Gauley Bridge at noon on Friday. The Food Land is on Rt. 60 on the left just before you get to the intersection of 60 and 39 in Gauley Bridge. It is a good sized grocery store. You won’t miss it.

I will be driving in that morning.

Can anyone give me and my boat a ride up Friday for this trip because my parents can't leave until Saturday, and they won't let me drive their car that far. I live close to the intersection of 81 and 64.

I can provide gas money or other liquid payment...

I'm in and psyched!
I can run this in the play boat? Or is the creek boat recommended?

I swam the gauley 2 years ago I've been working up to actually paddling it this year.

Dude, you should be golden from what I've heard of the Lower G and what I know you're capable of.

Anyone who knows the river, or Brad, better disagree?

Here's a preview of Diagonal Ledges on the Lower Gauley, fun little surf wave.

I would say your okay. But I would love to be there to see you eyes get real big. Its no big deal Brad. Take the Medow (that is what we ran? not the one you got surfed on) and the James at 8 feet and put them together. Was trying to get to rivers that you know to compare the Lower G to.
