My stint in Costa Rica

Let us know how it went! Swim confessions and carnage reports are welcome, but it's not fair to tell on your buddies!

Saturday is a better day

Post by kayakah »

Walked for about three hours today around san Jose with David B. and Steph. feeling lots better, good to be amonst friends again.
No paddling for at least another week, probably two.
Hospital rocked! Associated with Mt. Sini (sp) IN nyc. recovery in a 4 star resort designed for post sergery recovery. New best friends are Brian and Marci. They got me to the hospital from Turrialba, visited the next day, came by to visit on Thursday and drove me to the Adventure Inn to meet up with the group last night. True gentle spirts with kind hearts.

Thanks to all for your kind words! We should be back in the states tomorrow about 9PM

Mike....had killer ceiveche at a local joint a bit ago. Sea Bass. Hope this makes you drool!

I'll do an official trip report next week sometime.

ceviche rocks, not worth what you went through though!
although there has been some discussion regarding your last three trips down there.
was paddling just a front?
the surgical procedures requried to make gene a jean often require multiple surgeries over prolonged time.
I prefer not to see your scars!
dude, hurry back so we can talk smack and clink our mugs at legends!

Gene: I am so glad you are OK. If not too late I really need to stress having proper medical clearance to fly. A very good friend of ours had surgery and few to Japan on business. He developed and embolism and had to be hospitalized and evacuated back to the US on an air ambulance. Spent weeks in the hospital! NO JOKE. I know you asked all the right q’s but the mama bear in me makes me reiterate: CHECK WITH YOUR MD B-4 YOU FLY!

That being said, when you land make a straight line to your cardiologist. If you need one I strongly recommend Dr. Martirosian at Henrico Doctors Forest Campus.

See U soon.

Sorry about the bad luck Gene. I really hope that you have a full recovery and are back to your good old (very old) self soon. haha
