Goshen Pass Saturday
(Started a new thread so as not to stomp on Sam's.)
Looks promising for at least a low water run of the Pass for Saturday. Thinking noonish at the ledges. Might hold at 18" or so at the bridge with a little luck.
Mid forties with a chance of showers.
I'll try to post again tonight.

Sounds good to me! I'll portage the kitchen and corner. My portage skills are still sharp.
I haven't been to the ledges, but I'm figuring that if I head upstream on 39 I'll see boats and people. Please let me know if its any trickier than that.

We have a plan. Meeting at the ledges at noon. Provided they don't fiddle with the dam it should be something around 17" or so at the bridge gauge which is a reasonable first timers level.
From Rockbridge Baths if you continue upstream you cross the river and in maybe half a mile there is a gravel pull off on the right big enough for a dozen cars. That's the ledges takeout.
For me on this run "low water" is well below the 17" at the bridge I expect for tomorrow.

Kind of an apples and oranges thing. Goshen Pass is much more technical than the Lower Yough but at this level it really won't have any push. At ordinary levels I consider Devil's Kitchen and Corner to be more difficult than anything on the Lower Yough.DanC wrote:quick question -
how does the low water run compare to the lower yough? I remember higher water being slightly harder but it's been long enough since I've done a low water run I can't remember much about it.
