Stirring up trouble along the Blue Ridge

Post by bambam »

More than enough water out here as I type. Quite a day as gauge after gauge went straight up. It looks like most of the storm system has passed through and streams are starting to crest, or at least think about it.

MichaelME, I can't explain the Piney online gauge but it's possible it's reporting correctly. Kinda doubt it, but possible. Portions of Nelson County only got around half an inch of slow steady rain. As to the Amherst County portion, I don't know of any rain gauges there. I share your interest if anyone has a visual reading of that stream.

Most of the usual day-tripable-for-me (near Harrisonburg) suspects are booming but starting to settle down as the rain moves out.

Interested?

Looks like your buddy the Conway might be runnin'. I'm not in tomorrow but with rain Thursday in the forecast for that area(fingers crossed) I'm off Thur thru Sunday and would love to get the creek boat out of my bedroom. Chat closer to then...

Bambam as you already know sitting in Delaware watching watching the gauges rise at home is killing me. To make matters worse the only chance I'm going to have to paddle all month will be this weekend. So to you, Tolyho and all other interseted parties I'm off Friday through Monday and looking to get as much time in on the water as I can this weekend.

There is a person from Roanoke interested in the Tye for Mon. If I can get away I might join him.

Tye

The Tye should be at a good level.

Meet at AT Bridge for a run from the confluence down?

What time? Who wants to carpool from Richmond?

I missed Shawn & Co. this morning and so accepted an invitation to head north so I'm "out" for Nelson today.

If anything holds for Tuesday I plan to be in the Nelson area anyway.
