There will be a 5k run in the park in the am, then noon paddle and BBQ, with shuttle provided by riverside outfitters, followed by the RETRO movie event at the Camel at 5 pm. Proceeds from these events are raising money to support Greg Hawkins in his fight with lung cancer. Greg was a long time Richmond resident and JRPS paddler hiker biker runner and until recently head of the VCU outdoor adventure program. There is also a great silent auction of donated gear, the list of gear is on Facebook on the Greg Hawkins Fund Raiser page. Lots of serious deals! Donations will be accepted Saturday at the takeout, or just come out and paddle with practically everyone in the Richmond boating scene. A good time is GUARANTEED.
