OCT 3/26 Goshen Pass Cleanup & Paddle
Please mark your calendars for the 30 (ish) year club tradition of picking up trash along Rt. 39 through Goshen Pass on Saturday, March 26!
Afterwards, we'll do BYO lunch at the picnic area and then hopefully have enough water to paddle 1 or more sections of the Maury. Let's plan to meet at the Goshen Pass picnic area @ 10am.
Please let me know you are coming so I can have enough orange vests and trash bags. And also for coordinating any paddling to be had.
Don't forget long sleeves and gloves.
And check out Wallace's post about the W&L student doing on-the-water cleanups throughout March - very cool.

Thanks, and hope to see you on the 26th.

I'll be there for the cleanup. Paddle participation will depend on the weather (i.e. comfortable wetsuit weather - still no new dry suit from the cat incident).

We'll be there to beautify our neighbourhood.

Great to hear from so many, but we can always use more! Please let me know you're coming asap so I can be sure to have enough vests & bags.
Fingers crossed that the forecast rain Wednesday brings the river up enough for the weekend.
thanks, Alicia

I'd like to come and help clean up at the picnic area. I won't be paddling. Thanks for organizing. Looking forward to seeing everyone! Terri

UPDATE:
The good news is we got some rain; the not-so-good news is it wasn't enough for the Pass (for most folks, including me). I do expect we'll have enough water Saturday to paddle below the RB post office (class 2-2+).
That also is the most sheltered section from the wind, which is forecast to be 15-25mph.
The temperature at 10am is forecast at just 42 degrees, with windchills never quite making it out of the 30s all day.
Hiking is another option after the cleanup and lunch if the wind & temps don't appeal to you.
I do believe you will earn extra paddling karma for still coming to pick up trash despite the river not quite cooperating!
Advance thanks - see you there, Alicia
