OCT, Saturday, August 10

Post by martha james »

I'm on the schedule for a Seven Islands trip on Sat. With this tropical storm bringing rain from tomorrow until Sat morning, I'm thinking that we might be looking at flooding rivers or pe4fect paddling conditions. As it is too early to tell, I'm asking if anybody wants to paddle something on Sat. Let me know if you are interested in paddling Sat and I'll figure out on Friday evening if there will be a trip and where. That's the best I can do for now.

Caroline and Ted are counting on paddling Saturday. Maybe hope for the South Anna?

I am potentially game for either 7 Islands or South Anna for Saturday or Sunday based on "Coordinator Choice".

Looking forward to water, water, water!

Im thinking Sunday is better weather and give us a bit of time to figure it out. Maybe bottom Tye. Maybe Rockbridge Baths, or Lexington to BV.

I am up for anything Class 2-3+ and can help with Shuttle, etc

Hoping people post trips as it has been a dry spell

Also hope not too much rain falls that results in people
getting flooded.

Maury. Indian pool on down?

I too am flexible on river selection/location - anything with some white water IIs, tame IIIs - I can also help with shuttle with Toyota Sequoia. I can alos be flex on Saturday vice Sunday. Fun=safety - call the ball and we will be there.

I'd be more likely on Sunday, like the idea of bottom Tye or Maury.

Bottom Tye sounds good for Sunday if it comes down enough.Sat may be nothing; still watching water levels.

DECISION TIME TYE tomorrow. We'll paddle the Tye tomorrow, Sat Aug 10. We'll meet at the put-in, 79 South Powells Island Rd at 10:00. Take out will be where Falling Rock Dr crosses the Tye. The Tye is high now but falling fast. Let me know who's coming.
